Diane Green owns Greentree Naturals, a certified organic farm since 1992.  This small acreage farm is located outside of Sandpoint, Idaho where the growing season is 100 to 120 days. With the use of season extension and careful planning, Diane Green and husband Thom Sadoski have created a ‘niche’ in their rural community.    “We believe that diversity in our farming practices is every bit as important as diversity in our approach to marketing our garlic, herbs, flowers and specialty produce.” Expanding from a farmer's market to supplying upscale restaurants in the Sandpoint area, Greentree Naturals has also become a center for summer farm tours,  workshops, a grower's collective, a fresh flower  as  well as  produce subscription program known as Community Supported Agriculture (CSA).

They also have an active apprenticeship opportunity for aspiring farmers, and are presently involved in a program with University of Idaho and Washington State University to establish a credited curriculum for upcoming small acreage farmers. Diane  serves  on a  number  of  boards  for organizations such the State of Idaho  Organic  Foods Advisory Council,  University of Idaho College of Ag and Life Sciences Advisory Board representing small acreage farmers for the state of Idaho, University of Idaho Horticultural Advisory Committee, and is the Chair of the Board of Directors for Rural Roots (the  Inland Northwest Community Food Systems Task  Force) .

She's been teaching organic gardening & natural pest control in the Master Gardener course for the past eight years, and is helping to develop Small Farm programs for the University of Idaho and Washington State University, teaching farmers to become certified instructors.  Currently, she's also serving as a consultant for the sustainable Agriculture program for the Washington and Idaho Partnership 2020 project. Diane was selected as a recipient for a Founder of the New Northwest award by Sustainable Northwest.
